'Raththa Charithiram' tag line in trouble

We already repoted that surya's Raththa Charithiram is all set to grace theatres during this Diwali.

The latest news is Hindu Makkal Katchi has sent a legal notice to the makers of ‘Raththa Charithiram’, opposing this movies’s tagline in its promos- ‘Revenge is the purest emotion- Mahabharatha’.

The notice was sent to director Ram Gopal Varma, producer Dhayanidhi Alagiri of Cloud Nine Movies and actor Suriya by advocate N Raja Senthoor Pandian on behalf of his client T Kannan, who is the organising secretary of Hindu Makkal Katchi.

The legal notice says, “(The tagline) has degraded the great belief of Hinduism...since the epic guides the common public about the good principles to be followed in day-to-day life of human beings and the slogan gives a wrong meaning to Mahabharatha”.

The legal notice has asked the producer, director and actor to withdraw the slogan, as well as dialogues if any along similar lines. Reacting to this, Suriya has said that the cast and crew of the film had no intention on hurting anyone’s sentiments.

Wellknow director Mani Ratnam released ‘Raththa Charithiram’s tamil version music to happen today at 6:30 pm at Satyam Cinemas, Chennai.

Rattha Charitram will have actor Vivek Oberoi as rebel-turned politician Paritala Ravi, one of the most feared individuals in the blood-ridden faction politics of South India. Suriya will play the role of Maddalcheruvu Suri, Paritala Ravi’s opponent. The film also stars Shatrughan Sinha, Priyamani, Radhika Apte, Subrat Dutta, Ashish Vidyarthi, Sudeep, Zarina Wahab, Raj Babbar and Ranjeet.

Mani Ratnam released Rakta Charitram audio

Tamil super star Surya's much waited Rakta Charitram, will be held in Satyam Cinemas, October 30, 2010 at 5.30 PM in the presence of Tamil industry bigwigs. The audio CD will be released by Mani Ratnam and the event will be chaired by Rama Narayanan, Kalyan, Arulpathi and Amirtham.

Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, Rakta Charitram is a political thriller and is inspired by the real life incidents leading to the death of Paritala Ravindra, a political leader from Andhra Pradesh. The movie also stars Vivek Oberoi and Priyamani in lead roles.

Surya training hard to play the Circus role in ‘7 Aum Arivu’

Actor Suriya, who is playing the role of a Circus artiste in ‘7 Aum Arivu’ directed by A.R. Murugadoss, is training hard to play the role perfectly. He has been training in juggling balls and tightrope walk, etc.

Usually a hero who is said to be doing all the ‘hard work’ ends up doing nothing other than what he does in front of the camera but Suriya is an exception. The unit wants to show everyone that he is serious about what he does. It is said that the unit of EA is planning for a live demo of Suriya’s circus. Sources say that the star would do the literal ‘tightrope’ walk either on the eve of the audio-launch of the film or during the press-meet to be held in connection with the release of the film.

Surya's cameo role in Manmadhan Ambu

Its well know that ulakanayakan Kamal Haasan and hot actress Trisha are acting together for a latest flick ‘Manmadhan Ambu’ which is being directed by KS Ravikumar and produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies. Chocolate boy Madhavan is also playing one of the lead roles in the film.

The movie which is shooting vigorously quite for some time is nearing completion and will be releasing soon. The latest yet exciting news is that super star Surya is going to make a cameo appearance in the film.

7 Aum Arivu’ completes first schedule

Superstar Surya and Shruthi Haasan starrer Murugadoss’s latest upcoming directorial ‘7 Aum Arivu’ which has been shooting at fast pace has completed its first schedule in different locations of Chennai. The second schedule will begin from next week in foreign locales and in that songs on the lead pair will also be canned.

The movie is said to be South India’s first medical thriller which was also said to be inspired from Hollywood’s recent blockbuster Inception. The film has music by Harris Jayaraj while Ravi K Chandran is taking the charge of cinematography. It is produced by Udhyanidhi Stalin.

Surys was shy his college days : Surya’s father

The handsome hero Surya who is leading as one of the top heroes in kollywod shocks his father Sivakumar as well as made him proud too.

Surya’s father says, “We never expected that Suriya could make it this big in films. He was so timid when he was young and his fiery performance on screen is a pleasant surprise to all of us.”

Sivakumar adds, “In his college days, Suriya was a calm boy who would not even talk freely to his friends. He was as shy as I was before I entered the film industry”.

On saying about his younger son Karthi, “He is a bold guy who always wanted to make a career out of films. Even when I sent him abroad for studies, he made it clear to me that his passion was movies. And he is proving it now”.

The ace actor says, “All that I asked them was not to rejoice so much during victory and not to feel bad during failures and to respect everyone with equal importance”.

Surya Rakta Charitra Audio Launch on September 10

The audio of RGV and Surya’s controversial flick Rakta Charitra, starring Vivek Oberoi, Suriya and Priyamani in the lead, will be launched on September 10. Music is by Mani Sharma.

The movie is an intense political drama focusing on the life of Anantapur Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Paritala Ravi. Made as a trilingual in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil by Madhu Mantena and Sheetal V. Talwar, the film has completed its entire shooting and is expected to hit the screens by September end.

Another of director Shankar’s assistants, Siddharth, is to make his debut as a director in the film BALE PANDIYA (not a remake of the Sivaji Ganesan classic of the same title.)

Among those present were director Shankar, producer Kalaipuli S. Dhanu and star brothers Surya and Karthi.

Vishnu of Vennilaa Kabadi Kuzhu-fame plays the lead role opposite Piya (Poi Solla Porom and Aegan). The film is billed as a love story that deals with a very controversial theme.

Suriya replace Ajith?

Now that Ajith and Gautham Vasudev Menon have parted ways from doing a film together, it is said that the filmmaker would now make the movie with his favourite actor Suriya as the protagonist.

“Gautham likes to work with Suriya very much and he feels that the actor would suit to any kind of role. Hence his next choice for the project, which is a thriller, would obviously be Suriya”, say sources.

Tentatively titled ‘Thuppariyum Anand’, the film is set in pre-Independence era. “It is about a detective who zeroes in on culprits involved in sensitive cases in his own style”, sources in the know maintain.

One more interesting buzz about the project is that Gautham Menon has signed British Model Amy Jackson, who played the lead role in ‘Madrasapattinam’, for the heroine role. “His favourite cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa is busy doing research for the film”, sources add.

Surya will not speak hindi for Raktha Charithra

Surya, who is making his Bollywood debut with Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Raktha Charithra’, has suggested the director to opt for a professional dubbing artiste to dub for the character played by him.

“Because, the role I play in ‘Raktha Charithra’ should be real. Audiences should get convinced with my character. Hence I wanted a dubbing artiste to do the job to maintain the nativity”, he says.

Saying that he was scared of speaking in Hindi right from school days, the actor adds: “I don’t know why. But it was always tough for me to learn Hindi, though I married a Punjabi girl and the language is often spoken at my home”.

On the film, he says, “RGV has shaped it up in a very interesting way. It is a realistic film with a raw touch”. It may be recalled that the actor roped in a Hindi tutor to get his act right on the sets of ‘Raktha Charithra’.
