hi guyz,
Please advise on this issue: I work for a engineering software company. Currently I work as a 'Technical Support Engineer', but my company has offered me a position of 'Sales Engineer'. I have already applied for my I-485, but have not received a notice yet. If I start working in the sales position, will this affect my GC application? Would the USCIS know about my change of duties, if my 'salary' and 'position title' remains the same? Please reply. Response will be highly appreciated!

They will go to ur michigan address i guess.
Online u can change the address for each receipt number of ead ,485 and ap using ar-11 form online link. or u can also call custom rep also to make sure it is reflected.FP notice they will send a copy to ur lawyer .So ask him to let you know once he gets it. sending ar-11 form itself does not change the address against the recipt numbers.

Dear IV members,
We have a very big media opportunity to have our voices heard. A high profile reporter is writing a story with a slighly different angle by covering the immigration plight of our muslim members.
IV does not ask or maintain data on religion/faith/ethinicity of our members and we do not differentiate members based on such criterias.
However it is a need of this reporter and we wish to help in getting this story out in a major newspaper with immigration issues we are fighting for.
If you have a compelling story and you are a muslim IV member, please contact me or Salil (raydhan@immigrationvoice.org) from IV core ASAP with your contact and a brief detail about your plight.

My cousin was able to get it same day.
Drop everything and visit the local/nearest office as soon as you can.
The guys there are usually very sympathetic in such cases.
Best of luck

What you can do is ask for the case #. Then you can check the status online (it will basically tell you when it was rec'd). After that just sit back and wait for the next 4 months or so. Once I140 is approved ask the lawyer for a copy of the approval notice. This is critical if you ever need to move companies.

...would you notice the editing if you didn't know about it?
It took me a while to even realise what you had done. There are three feathers that look alike on the lower neck, but I'd never known you did anything if you hadn't pointed it out.

My application was received on July 3 at NSC. Till now, I haven't received any notices. I got the RNs by calling USCIS.
Now, I placed an expedite order on my EAD on Friday. They sent me a mail saying my app was received on Oct 10 and not July 3 (yeah right! if it was oct 10, why would you even accept it?). So I faxed them the fedex delivery signature confirmation. Today I see a LUD on my EAD app but nothing else has changed.
Can anyone shed some light on what might possibly going on here? I can probably wait for some more time to find out for sure but I am curious. Guys with approved EAD - did you see a LUD on your app before it was approved?
Thanks

According to KPBS, A bill to strengthen the U.S.-Mexico border could be a mixed blessing for San Diego. That's because paying for more for border security will require a hike in H1B visas.
The H-1B is a non-immigrant visa in the United States under the Immigration and Nationality Act, section 101(a)(15)(H). It allows U.S. employers to temporarily employ foreign workers in specialty occupations. If a foreign worker in H-1B status quits or is dismissed from the sponsoring employer, the worker can apply for a change of status to another non-immigrant status, find another employer (subject to application for adjustment of status and/or change of visa), or must leave the US.
The regulations define a specialty occupation as requiring theoretical and practical application of a body of highly specialized knowledge in a field of human endeavor including, but not limited to, architecture, engineering, mathematics, physical sciences, social sciences, biotechnology, medicine and health, education, law, accounting, business specialties, theology, and the arts, and requiring the attainment of a bachelors degree or its equivalent as a minimum (with the exception of fashion models, who must be "of distinguished merit and ability".) Likewise, the foreign worker must possess at least a bachelors degree or its equivalent and state licensure, if required to practice in that field.
Duane Roth, CEO of the biotech support group Connect, said that could make it more difficult for San Diego businesses to hire qualified workers. He said higher costs for H1B visas may also encourage more companies to outsource.
"A company may consider whether it's better to open a facility in a foreign country and hire the workers that are already there, versus the ability to bring some here to fill the opening jobs," said Roth.
He said the U.S. education system is not producing enough scientists and engineers to staff high-tech companies in San Diego.
I feel that another H1B fee hike will be a death blow to the possibility of retaining talented workers in the US and for small US companies to expand business.

I don't have very many interesting subjects from my D70 test. Here's the only other one that has the slightest worth showing, with a bit of post processing to improve the color balance (flash on the foreground made the white table behind look very yellow, and it's still not fixed to my satisfaction)...
